Now here’s an interesting vehicle that I’d wager you’ve never seen before. Produced by a relatively new company known as XPLORA Overlander, they specialise in bespoke builds … and boy does it show!

“We build ‘go anywhere’ 4×4 camper vans here in the U.K., ready to take you on fantastic adventures worldwide.” So says Steve Williams, driving force behind the company.

Supplying new or second hand vehicles depending on your budget and individual requirements, they will work with their customers to build your dream, all-terrain camper van.

You can also choose between short, medium and long wheelbase Ford, Iveco, VW & Mitsubishi Chassis’.

Steve goes on to say, “We custom build the interior to your spec, build and fit custom outer accessories, such as winch bumpers, roof racks, bike and kayak racks. Then there’s all the mechanical tweaks and improvements, such as larger fuel tanks, snorkels or suspension lifts to suit your travel requirements. We can also fit your vehicle with satellite navigation, entertainment and music systems. You specify it, we can build it!”

So whether your looking for a compact 4×4 camper van for holidays, extreme sports and adventure weekends away in the U.K. or a vehicle capable of travelling the world, XPLORA Overlander can build your dream 4×4 escape pod!

Oh, nearly forgot … I’ll give you one guess at which event the company decided would be the launch pad for their all-new Transit based camper – got it in one! Come on down to the Adventure Overland Show, Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse weekend of 23-24 September 2017 and see this superb looking vehicle ‘in the flesh’ as it were, for XPLORA Overlander have a trade stand at this year’s edition of the event, meaning that Steve will be on call throughout the weekend and happy to show you around his latest creation.

“It’s glamping on wheels” one of my colleagues remarked, reckon that’s a pretty fair observation. The good ol’ Tranny sure has come a long way since the days of the Mk.1, that’s for sure!
