Along with launching a new group at AO`16 called The Budget Overland and Practical Bushcraft Club, David will as last year be giving two talks as part of the ‘Been There, Done It’ Seminar Sessions – one at midday on Saturday 24th, the other 10am Sunday 25th September. The subjects have still to be confirmed, but whatever they are, get there early as they are guaranteed to be extremely popular.
A self-confessed, adventurer, cynic and overland nut, David’s spent a ridiculous amount of his life travelling near and far – on foot, canoe, boat, motorbike and by 4×4. In his spare time he is a builder for, designer of, teacher and instructor and ‘friend on the phone’ for many overland travellers. Any spare time that’s left is spent writing, discovering the special bits of the UK and simply spending time with his family and friends.
Although well known as an instructor in off road driving, David also teaches navigation, from basic to really quite complicated. His passion for maps and non-electronic navigation is offset by his love of simple technology. Something which doubtless he will attempt to fit into a short lecture on navigation … with pictures!
