Join our convoy to the Adventure Northside overland/bushcraft show in Germany!

September 8, 2015 Comments Off on Join our convoy to the Adventure Northside overland/bushcraft show in Germany! News, Visitors

I’m sure that many of you are aware by now that straight after the ADVENTURE OVERLAND SHOW at Stratford-upon-Avon 23-24 Sept 2017, we’re off in convoy to our sister overland event in the northeast of Germany – Adventure Northside.

Held from Saturday 30th September to Tuesday 3rd October, in case you’re wondering about the dates, Tuesday 3rd October is a public holiday in Germany (Reunification Day), hence the 3-day show has now been extended to 4 days.

Also, as we’ve outgrown the original venue, our new home is now “Gut Basthorst”. It is a private 600-hectare estate owned by Baron von Ruffin & his family. Hosting an assortment of events throughout the year, the venue is located just 30 mins. east of Hamburg – this equates to a catchment area of over 5 million people!!! – in the village of 21493 Basthorst, Northeast Germany. The ambiance of the estate with its historic buildings, stables and cobbled streets will make it unique for 4×4 fair. Capable of accommodating 150+ outdoor & indoor trade stands (the complex boasts a large indoor exhibition space in the rustic barns), 7,000 – 10,000 day visitors, and within the surrounding forest and meadows, hundreds of campers expected this year, the potential for growth is incredible.

A lot of Brits will be heading over to Germany for Adventure Northside immediately after Stratford, so if you’d like to join our convoy, then no problem.

Our itinerary is as follows:-

Monday 25th Sept: Clear-up day after the ADVENTURE OVERLAND SHOW.

Tuesday 26 Sept: Calais-Dover/Dunkirk – Ferry route + times to be announced (this allows for 1 night camping in Valkenburg, Holland).

Wednesday 27 Sept: Arrive in Basthorst late afternoon.

Return whenever you wish.

Last year we had some spare seats, so if you want to share the costs with a driver, that is also an option.

If you want to join us, email / ring me Tom McGuigan – 4x4trading@talk21.com / 07958 216266.

This was the car park just on Day One at Adventure Northside last year!

The bushcraft section proved very popular, especially fire-lighting by means of a bow drill.

Trade stands aplenty!

The Brit officials took a shine to this electric Landcruiser

Low emissions for sure!

The man’s found himself a bargain bonnet! Nice Landy by the way.

What were they watching? Punch & Judy no less!

There were some really nice display vehicles.

The Germans tend to have more demos and workshops than at British shows.

Interesting grapic.

Bizarre graphic!

Live music, a fire-pit and a beer or three, what more can you ask for?
